Marcos Armitaje, a contemporary digital artist from Venezuela, has painstakingly perfected the distinctive technique of Earth Mineral photography. The eccentric and brilliant Crystalwave art works he captures are a result of vibration isolated radiation forced through native earth minerals. The Crystalwave vistas are viewed and photographed using a wavelength-filtered charged capture device (Infrared CCD). They are then photographically printed onto SCRATCH RESISTANT and WATER RESISTANT metal surfaces. Here reproduced in luminous colors are the waves of "light" that are completely invisible to the naked eye and thus, cannot be detected by any other means! Crystalwave painting by Marcos Armitaje is one of a kind!
Natural Earth Minerals from Sedona, AZ, Peridot Mesa, AZ, Ochoco Forest, OR, Santa Fe, NM , Virgin Valley, NV, Yogo Gulch and Crystal Park, Montana and other energy vortex centers are carefully selected based on their mineral structure and birefringence. These earth-toned patterns and colors can bring soothing relief and centered clarity to anyone seeking energy and a peaceful feeling.
Mr. Armitaje has graduate degrees in Biological Imaging and Science Education. He has lived in Venezuela, the U.S. Virgin Islands, London and across the United States. He now divides his time between Prescott, AZ and Southern California. His art works have been featured on the covers of 14 different Journals including American Laboratory, International Biotechnology Laboratory and the Southern California Academy of Sciences Bulletin. He also received the International Honorable Mention from Nikon Corporation for several of his art works. He has won grant awards for his optics research totaling over $25,000, and received a U.S. Patent for an optical device in 1993.
Mr. Armitaje is a member of the La Jolla Art Association, the San Diego Art Institute, the Del Mar Art Center Gallery, Coastal Artists of San Diego, and the Studio Channel Islands Art Center. His most recent show was held at the James Gray Gallery at the world famous Bergamot Station in Santa Monica, CA
“My art is not simply the expression of feeling or commitment into the material world where we reside. On the contrary, it is at its essence, the forced sequestration and confiscation of electromagnetic radiation not visible to the human eye. The Crystalwave art works you observe here now on canvas, have bathed your corporal being since before you were born. I present to you here and now, the fossil radiation you have always innately known.”
